Central Area Refurbishment

The area on the North side of St Jude's Road, opposite Stopps and between Alexandra Road and Victoria St has long been in need of a tidy up and made in to an area that's more use as a Village centre. To be able to do ahead with the refurbishment work, we've secured grants from Surrey County Council (thanks to County Councillor Marisa Heath and others) and from Runnymede Borough Council (thanks to Borough Councillors Berardi and Gates).

Application for Parish Council Status

As Surrey moves to two Unitary authorities and Borough Councils become a thing of the past, the process will lead to there being fewer local Council Representatives serving larger areas. This means the distance between local needs and the administering body is considerably greater with more competition for resources and allocation.

As a result, many areas are recognising the benefits of having a Parish Council to truely provide local control over local matters that are directly answerable to local people. The Forum applied to form a Parish Council on this basis and the process has now started. Find out more

Parking, Speed Limits, Road Improvements

Surrey County Council have accepted our submissions for Priest Hill, St Jude's Road, Bakeham Lane and Prune Hill, these will be advertised for public comment in due course. Work continues to address the various issues highlighted in the Plan regarding parking, speeding and road improvements. Progress is slow as infrastructure falls under Surrey County Council, but we are making progress in the right direction. Find out more

Hedging & Trees

Our plan to plant hedging and trees along various verges in the Green continues to be challenging despite trying for two years to engage RBC in a dialogue on this important improvement to the area, particularly the Forest Estate. Find out more

Englefield Green Review of Non-Designated Heritage Assets Approved

Non-designated heritage assets are buildings, monuments, sites and places proposed in the Englefield Green Village Neighbourhood Plan. A survey carried out in December 2021 identified a list of buildings and structures which was then amended in June 2023 resulting in a list of 106 entries (covering 182 assets). Local Heritage Lists areas or landscapes identified as having a degree of heritage significance meriting consideration in planning decisions but which do not meet the criteria for designated heritage assets. The local listing designation does not affect owners Permitted Development Rights. Find out more
